TRAD UK is delighted to announce that the company has won Organisational Fundraiser of the Year at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards 2023. The ANSAs, Anthony Nolan’s annual awards ceremony, has been taking place since 2013, and this was the first in-person awards since going virtual for the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards 2019 due to the pandemic.

Originally setting a target of ‘£22 for 22’, last year’s fundraising smashed TRAD’s target, raising an astonishing £35,000 for the charity, which had supported John Paterson and his wife Jane during John’s illness. Jane was at the ANSAs event to collect the award, alongside TRAD UK Managing Director Colin Dobson, HR Director Ros Howe and Procurement Manager, Glynn Burrows.

During the fundraising year, staff, customers and suppliers took part in a number of events, most notably a golf day at Gleneagles – John’s home course. The volume of support during the year reflected the high regard in which John was held by everyone who knew him.

John’s wife Jane said: “Last year, I was completely overwhelmed by the support that all the people at TRAD gave me, and the Anthony Nolan cause. To win this award is the icing on the cake. John would have been both humbled and delighted that all this has been done in his name. It was very special to be able to collect the ANSA award.”

Henny Braund MBE, Chief Executive at Anthony Nolan, said: “All of our nominees are a hugely deserving winner of these awards; Trad’s incredible support and passion for our work is a fantastic example of our charity, which is built on making lifesaving connections. It was lovely to meet Ros, Colin, Glynn and Jane and I continue to find myself inspired and humbled by the dedication and strength of supporters like them.

“By raising vital funds and much needed awareness, we are curing blood cancer together. We can give families hope and give more people a future.”

Colin Dobson, Managing Director of TRAD UK added: “John was my boss, my colleague and my friend – we worked together for 25 years. We’re so humbled to have been nominated. This win feels like the final piece of the jigsaw, we were so pleased that Jane, John’s wife could join us to receive the award.”
